Victoria Justice phoned in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” while on her way to the launch of Ryan Seacrest Foundation‘s Seacrest Studios, an in-house multimedia broadcast center, inside Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s) and revealed she still needs to take her driver’s test!
Victoria, who’s talked with us before about needing to get her license, reveals she has her permit but needs to take the official behind the wheel test still.
The 20-year-old, who was being driven by her mom, joked: “I’m riding with my mom. Yeah, this is the thing, my permit expires April 9th so I’m legitimately getting it before then because I don’t want to take the whole permit test thing again because that’s kind of a pain in the butt.”
Admitting, “we’ve talked about my license and how embarrassing it is I don’t have it like several times now on air I’ve been embarrassed about this many times. I have to take the drivers test like in the cart so hopefully I pass that so keep your fingers crossed you guys.”
As for what Victoria was filming the other day that was “top secret“?
“I don’t know if I can divulge too many details about it. But I will give a hint. Do you guys know the TV show on MTV Jersey Shore? I’m not going to be on Jersey Shore or anything but it involves one of the members of Jersey Shore and something cool that he’s doing and yeah it was a lot of fun…it will air on MTV.”
And be sure to check back in April to hear the big announcement Victoria is making about her tour!
Victoria Justice is ready to put the pedal to the metal! The Nickelodeon star celebrated her 20th birthday party with a handful of celebrity pals at RH restaurant inside West Hollywood’s Andaz hotel on Saturday, March 2.
The Victorious actress officially turned the big 2-0 a week and a half before her star-studded soiree, where guests like Miley Cyrus and Chord Overstreet drank Vitamin Water mocktails and played Twister Rave. “I went to Vegas!” Justice told Us Weekly of her Feb. 19 plans. “I saw the Beatles Love show and stayed at The Mirage. It was just amazing.”
Justice, who still lives at home with her parents, added that she “didn’t want any gifts” this year. Instead, she’s giving herself the “biggest” present ever: “I’m buying a car!”
Before she gets behind the wheel, however, the Fun Size star needs to take her driver’s test. “I’m getting my license. I’m a bit of a late bloomer on that, I know,” Justice told Us. “I’ve been so busy, but I’m so excited to pick out my first car.” The “Freak the Freak Out” singer said she’s “undecided” about the vehicle’s make and model. “I just want something safe and sturdy,” she explained.
Once that major milestone is reached, Justice will embark on a summer tour beginning June 19 in L.A. The First Time actress told Us she’s excited to see what happens next: “I’m leaving my teenage years behind!”
Puerto Rican actress-slash-singer Victoria Justice has a lot to celebrate. Having just wrapped four successful seasons as aspiring singer Tori Vega on Nickelodeon’s tween hit Victorious, Justice is also saying goodbye to her teens.
The starlet, who turned 20 on Feb. 19, celebrated Hollywood-style at Sunset Boulevard’s chic hotel Andaz West Hollywood with family, friends and fellow celebs including Miley Cyrus, Glee’s Chord Overstreet, and Victorious on-screen sister Daniella Monet.
Wearing a silver cutout sequenced dress and black heels, Justice was all smiles when she arrived hand-in-hand with her younger sister Maddy. When she wasn’t tearing up the dance floor to Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie” feat. Jay-Z and Macklemore’s “Thrift Shop”, the Fun Size actress was snapping photos with Disney star Debby Ryan and former Zoey 101 costars Erin Sanders and Chris Massey.
“I just want everyone to have a good time tonight and I want to dance until the sun comes up,”
Justice told us of her birthday wishes.
As for who’s inspiring the 10-year Hollywood vet in this next phase of her career, Justice looks up to fellow boricua Jennifer Lopez.
“Latina role models? I think it’s really cool how J.Lo’s been able to balance an acting career and a music career,”
“That’s something I strive for.”
Justice is on the right path. She’s currently in the studio writing her own music for an upcoming solo album.
“I don’t have a final date,”
she said of the album.
“I’m going on a big tour this summer to take all the music from the show [Victorious] and I have a big announcement coming up.”
It’s a big day for Victoria Justice. Not only does her feel-good flick Fun Size come out on DVD, but she’s also turning the big 2-0. The actress-slash-singer took time away from recording her upcoming album (and blowing out her candles!) to chat about working with Josh Schwartz, attending Fashion Week, and celebrating her milestone birthday.
First of all, happy birthday! How are you spending it?
“I can’t believe I’m no longer a teenager! Time really flies. I’ll probably just hang with my family and close friends. I think I’m actually going to have a party this year, but not until after my birthday.”
Josh Schwartz has produced some of the best teen-centric TV shows, including The O.C. and Gossip Girl. What was it like to work with him on Fun Size?
“He’s one of the reasons why I wanted to be a part of this project. He’s so smart and he understands what teens are like. He’s super chill and he knows what’s relatable.”
He always has really great soundtracks, and you’re into music. Did you guys talk about that?
“We did. He actually created a mixed tape of songs for me to listen to get me into the mood of the character. She listened to a lot of Iggy Pop and super-cool punk rock, and, of course, Pink Floyd.”
What kind of music do you listen to?
“I listen to all kinds of music honestly. I have very eclectic taste, from The Beatles and The xx, to Sara Bareilles and Jason Mraz. I like all genres.”
When can we expect your album?
“There’s not a release date yet. I’ve been taking my time to write it. It’s going to be pop, but not super bubble gum. It has a throwback ’80s vibe. I’m writing all the music and the things come from a very real place. I have a complete creative control. It’s great.”
We spied you at New York for fashion week. How was it?
“Oh my gosh, it was incredible. I went to the Wildfox party that was really fun, and I went to a DKNY show and got to meet Donna Karan. I was able to wear the designers’ clothes to all of the events, and I got to see some really cool things. It was a whirlwind. Alice + Olivia has some amazing pieces for fall. I’m the kind of person who loves designer clothes, but I like getting random things at Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, and vintage stores.”
What’s next for you?
“Right now, my main focus is writing music. Right now I’m working on the first single. I’m going on tour this summer, called “Here’s 2 Us.” I’m gearing up for that, so I’m very music-centric at the moment. Both music and acting are huge parts of my life—it’s all about balance.”
The stunning star of iCarly and Victorious, Victoria Justice, told us about her upcoming Victorious musical tour, how she picks her amazing red carpet fashions, and her dream style project. We could talk to the lovely and talented Victoria Justice all day. Katrina Mitzteliotis reporting.
These days, our knowledge of celebrities too often originates with paparazzi images and snarky quotes by anonymous “insiders.” After a while, it’s easy to forget that stars are real people. That’s why HuffPost Celebrity decided to launch its all-new #nofilter quick-fire question and answer series. Because how well do you know someone until they’ve shared their guiltiest pleasures?
Victoria Justice made her acting debut at the ripe age of 10 before rising to fame as Lola on the Nickelodeon series “Zoey 101.” In 2010, she was given her own musical Nick show titled “Victorious” and has since captivated audiences with her gorgeous smile and killer vocals. Victoria has recorded a handful of hits for the series, including the theme song, “Make It Shine,” as well as “Freak the Freak Out.”
“Victorious” aired its final episode on Feb. 2, 2013, after four seasons, but Victoria’s run is not over! The 19-year-old recently revealed that she will release her debut album and head out on tour this year. So what is she most looking forward to in 2013? HuffPost Celebrity found out!
What’s your guilty pleasure?
I love mint Milanos! I put them in the freezer so they’re frozen and crunchy. It’s delicious.
If you could wear something from your childhood wardrobe, what would it be?
I have a Spice Girls T-shirt and I think it would be hilarious if I wore it. I’ve had it since I was, like, 6.
Hot coffee or iced coffee?
It depends, but I think iced coffee.
What’s your dating deal-breaker?
If someone is ever unfriendly to my parents or disrespectful to their own parents. It’s like a no-no for me.
It’s been happening forever! I think it’s flattering. She’s so pretty, so it’s very nice to be able to say that! I get the Nina thing a lot.
Any Valentine’s Day plans?
Oh wow, Valentine’s Day is soon! Actually, the big thing in the month of February for me is my birthday. I turn 20 on the 19th, so that’s the end of my teen years!
What do you hope to accomplish this year?
I’m going on tour again this summer and it’s a much bigger tour than I did last year, it’s sponsored by AEG, so that’s super exciting. And once the tour is over, I’m going to be completely done with Nickelodeon. I don’t say this as, “Oh, I’m done with them,” but my show just ended recently so I’m looking forward to the next chapter and I’m excited about the opportunities I have waiting on the horizon.
